Our Story

Based in Chicago’s southern suburbs since 2005, the Tallgrass Chapter of Pheasants Forever/Quail Forever diligently strives to bring the mission of PF/QF to the local community. 100% funded by the Chapter’s fundraising efforts, our mission is to introduce new individuals to shooting sports, foster gun safety knowledge and be a medium for hunter mentorship in our community.

Through local partnerships, on average, our chapter hosts six learn-to-shoot events and a mentored learn-to-hunt outing to local patrons. We pride ourselves in offering these events free of charge and strive to spread our mission to a wider audience.

In addition to our impact to the community at home, we are also very proud of our contributions to national initiatives such as the No Child Left Indoors Act, Legislative Action Fund, helping fund land acquisitions, which create new public land for hunting and recreation, along with countless other organizational goals taken on by the national governing body.

We are proud of what we have accomplished since our inception and continue to strive to provide quality education, conservation efforts, habitat improvements and camaraderie within our community and across our nation.
